Masterton Mayor Lyn Patterson has given Michelle O'Connell's book Leaving for the Front headline billing in her weekly column in the Wairarapa News.

 

The mayor asks readers to recall the re-enactment of the first contingent of soldiers who left the Wairarapa to fight in the Great War.  She then goes on to note she is "delighted that Michelle O'Connell has now turned her experiences into a children's book."

 

Lyn Patterson noted she will be attending the book launch on 18 April at the Masterton Public Library and has confirmed she will be a guest speaker .
