Business Media Services Ltd was established in 1993. It is a family-owned company, with the directors being Mike Smith and Sue Wilkie. The principle activity initially was freelance journalism, based on Mike's experience in business reporting as senior journalist with the National
Business Review, and Sue's work with Radio New Zealand and the Mana News network. Later this expanded into the writing of in-depth company and country reports and the publication and distribution of books. BMS continues to provide freelance news services, particularly on the forestry and avaiation industries in New Zealand and throughout the Southern Hemisphere. More recent developments have included business news online.
